Books for All: Audio Resources
Ref: BA3
"Literacy is fundemental to all areas of learning" but for many pupils with additional support needs, literacy is a struggle. 'Books for All' courses focus on creating and using accessible resources to enable pupils with additional support needs greater independent access to the curriculum, which schools and local authorities are obliged to do.
Schools and local authorities are obliged to consider how they can provide learning resources in accessible formats for pupils with disabilities. Recent changes to the CLA (Copyright Licensing Agency) Licence make it easier for schools to adapt resources for pupils with dyslexia and other reading and writing difficulties. 'Books for All' courses focus on creating and using accessible resources to enable pupils with additional support needs greater independent access to the curriculum.
Explore how audio files and resources can be used to enable access to the curriculum. Learn how to make your own recordings and generate synthesised audio files from text. A range of software and audio (MP3) players to enable access to texts will be available to examine.
